Writer, anthropologist & facilitator Jo Hemlatha joined Lolly in the studio for an introduction (yes, this is only part 1!) to upcoming interviews with activist from the sex workers rights movements in Northern India VAMP & Saheli Sangh.
Jo provides an extremely comprehensive introduction to the political & social climate around sex work in India, the incredible activism that takes place & how sex work within India has been represented internationally.
It’s a long, but very much nourishing discussion that digresses down many paths including conflict resolution within social justice movements, poor media representations of sex work in India & why autism can contribute towards becoming an activist.
