Dec. 2021:Justice for Agnes Wanjiru on End Violence Against Sex Workers Day

Sex workers protest on December 17, the internation day to end violence against sex workers, in front of the Ministry of Defence, against the murder of Agnes Wanjiru, a Kenyan sex worker, who was killed by a British Army soldier nine years ago. The soldier still has not been held to account despite confessing to a member of his unit.

Sad, sage, and raging speeches about the systemic violence in the armed forces and the police, and how imperialism, sexism, racism, poverty, criminalisation and pandemic policies are aiding and abetting the murder and rape of sex workers and other woman and marginalised people.

With words from Agnes’ family, the bar hostesses association in Nairobi, Kenya, SWARM, ECP, AAWG, Women Against Rape, and Sisters Uncut, and an impromptu direct action.
